Bennett Mahler

A native Long Islander, Bennett Mahler has been enjoying an active and diverse musical career as a violist, violinist, singer, teacher, and church musician, based in Montréal (Canada) and New York. He recently completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Performance at McGill University, studying modern viola with André Roy and baroque viola with Hélène Plouffe. Recent highlights have included performances with Bourbon Baroque, Le Festival Bach de Montréal, l’Orchestre Symphonique de la Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent, Opera da Camera, La Compagnie baroque Mont-Royal, les Idées heureuses, voces boreales, and Downtown Voices (Trinity Church Wall Street). Additionally, he has attended the Tafelmusik Winter Institute, Baroque Opera Workshop at Queens College, Eastern Music Festival, and served as a guest performer and historical performance clinician at the Silpakorn University Summer Music School in Bangkok, Thailand. Also interested in education, Bennett works in curriculum coordination at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine at Hofstra University, where he is also pursuing a second master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies.
